Coco Rocha stars in the ad campaign for Karl Lagerfeld’s hotly anticipated collection for Macy’s. The model quietly uploaded this cool behind-the-scenes video from the campaign shoot that features interviews with her and Karl, who shot the campaign in his Paris studio. Karl doesn’t sounds terribly excited about the collaboration–when asked about the inspiration, he just repeats, “It’s all about Macy’s.” Still, it’s fun to hear him talk and to watch his gloved hands sketching. Chanel F/W 11.12: Freja Beha by Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld designed a protective winter dressing with sturdy and masculine silhouettes fall/winter collection for Chanel. With one of his favourite girls modelling the collection; Freja Beha poses in and around a photo booth gaining a dissociative identity disorder as she transitions into many looks with different hairstyles and colours as well writing on her face and dressing like a cat. This is truly a different direction for Chanel, Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself naturally, and styled byCarine Roitfeld, this has an edgier feel than the past campaigns.

Karl Lagerfeld Snapped in Saint Tropez Without Sunglasses

  It's a rare moment when Karl Lagerfeld is without his sunglasses. Watchers of the documentary Lagerfeld Confidential have had the opportunity to see the designer sketch, sunglasses off, on film since it premiered a few years ago, and over the weekend, Lagerfeld was snapped in Saint Tropez with his bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau, eating at a cafe without his usual eyewear.

In addition to Lisa Chaney's Coco Chanel: An Intimate Life coming out Nov 10th—in which she reveals certain secrets—this Fall will first bring us two additional books, listed below.

But first, and while we're talking Coco Chanel, the  Jean Leymarie classic volume, Chanel, was also re-released earlier this year with a completely redesigned cover by Philippe Apeloig. In this volume which begins with a brief history of fashion, "Leymarie takes the reader through Chanel’s early days, when she mingled with Jean Cocteau, Igor Stravinsky, and Luchino Visconti, through the development of her brand after her death by Karl Lagerfeld".  For Chanel's Fall 2011 eyewear collection, Karl Lagerfeld turned to one of Chanel's most iconic fixtures: the chain. Used to reinterpret classic Chanel eyewear shapes — aviators, square frames, cat-eyes — the chains are woven with lambskin leather and come in muted Fall hues like wine, taupe and navy. For the ad campaign, Lagerfeld employed another Chanel classic: long-time muse Claudia Schiffer. See all five of the Lagerfeld-shot ads here.
